Global crackdown on Kidflix, a major child sexual exploitation platform with almost two million users

In early April 2025, a major international law enforcement operation, coordinated by Europol and involving over 35 countries, dismantled "Kidflix," a dark web platform notorious for distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Launched in 2021, Kidflix had amassed around 1.8 million users by the time it was shut down on March 11, 2025. The platform hosted over 91,000 videos—totaling approximately 6,288 hours of content—depicting extreme child exploitation, including crimes against very young children.

The operation, dubbed "Operation Stream," led to the arrest of 79 individuals worldwide, with over 1,400 additional suspects identified. Authorities seized more than 3,000 electronic devices as part of the crackdown. Unlike typical CSAM platforms, Kidflix allowed users to both stream and download content, operating a cryptocurrency-based token system where users could pay for access or earn credits by uploading material.
