Texas First Lady Leads Statewide Week of Prayer to Combat Human Trafficking

Texas is taking a stand against human trafficking with a prayer.

First Lady Cecilia Abbott is spearheading the cause as she announced the kickoff of the fourth annual Week of Prayer to End Human Trafficking starting on January 8. This interfaith event is set for the second week of January, coinciding with Human Trafficking Prevention Month in Texas, according to the Office of the Texas Governor.

Part of the Governor's Response Against Child Exploitation (GRACE), aims to gather Texans of diverse faiths in prayer, awareness, and action, hoping to spotlight a crime that often thrives in the dark.

“The Week of Prayer to End Human Trafficking is an integral part of GRACE's efforts, bringing hope and healing to survivors of human trafficking," First Lady Abbott said, as per the Office of the Texas Governor.
