Liberty Legal Institute concurs that pastor riggle right, Americans united Wrong!
Houston, TX – Liberty Legal Institute (LLI) as well as other nationally respected religious liberties public interest legal experts provided opinions confirming that Houston Pastor Steve Riggle was well within his rights as a pastor to express support for a congresssional candidate in the recent Primary Election.
“Pastor Riggle's letter is a clear example of a pastor exercising his constitutional right as an individual to endorse a candidate," stated Roger Byron on behalf of LLI. "A pastor... does not shed his rights by donning the cloth and pastoring a church."
HAPC sought the opinions on behalf of Pastor Steve Riggle, senior pastor of Grace Community Church in Houston as well as a member of the HAPC Executive Committee of pastors after Americans United for Separation of Church and State filed a complaint with the IRS.
HAPC is reviewing all possible legal options to begin challenging what we call intimidation and harassment of liberal, anti-God organizations like AU and the ACLU.
